GoodRx account closure and data deletion cover different ground
Account access, deletion requests and provider records have separate consequences.

A closed account and an erased record answer different questions.
CNBC’s November 2 report on GoodRx’s proposed privacy settlement brings that distinction into focus. The settlement administrator lists a February 11, 2027 final-approval hearing. That scheduled hearing is a future step, rather than a final approval.
Account closure changes access
GoodRx says account deletion removes access to saved prescription information and history, and forfeits unredeemed rewards points.
Deletion has a separate schedule
Its retention schedule says information is deleted within 90 days of a request unless an exception applies, including legal requirements or legal claims.
A pharmacy holds its own records
Its deletion guidance says third-party mail-order pharmacy or healthcare-provider records follow separate policies and may not be subject to deletion.
The distinction is what each action covers.
