Mark Wahlberg’s Municipal Gym brings the longevity pitch to the workout floor
A planned Las Vegas club pairs training with recovery services. Its published prices and opening timetable reveal the details behind the pitch.

Mark Wahlberg’s Municipal Gym is taking a broad view of what a gym visit can include: strength training, recovery spaces, a café and a connection to the MUNICIPAL apparel brand. The planned Downtown Summerlin club in Las Vegas is being developed in partnership with EōS Fitness.
The appeal is easy to understand. Instead of treating a workout, a recovery session and a social stop as separate trips, the concept puts them in one destination. For the business, that creates more reasons to visit and more than one way to earn revenue.
What the club is planning
Municipal’s official FAQ describes a roughly 32,000-square-foot facility at 2315 Summa Drive. Planned training areas include indoor turf, an outdoor space and a circuit-training zone called the 4:AM Club. Its recovery amenities include temperature-controlled plunges and an infrared sauna.
There is also a café that the company says will welcome non-members, alongside in-club apparel and supplement sales. The combination puts recovery and retail close to the workout floor instead of treating them as separate businesses down the street.
What ‘affordable’ means here
The clearest starting point is the offer rather than the label. Municipal advertises regular monthly prices of $129 for its Municipal tier and $179 for Municipal Mindset.
A separate one-day promotion prices the Mindset tier at $99 per month for online enrollment from midnight Pacific on November 2, 2026, until midnight on November 3. The offer applies to the Summerlin location and is subject to taxes.
The promotional terms say the first monthly payment is collected at enrollment, with the next due 30 days after the club opens. That makes the timing and conditions part of the price, not a footnote to it.
Those published membership offers should not be confused with a promise that every test or service is bundled into the fee. The relevant membership terms and any additional charges still matter when comparing what a customer actually receives.
The opening date needs a closer look
TechCrunch reported a December opening in its October 16 coverage. Municipal’s current FAQ instead says early 2027.
That difference matters for anyone considering a presale. The official timetable is the more useful reference for planning a visit, and an opening date should be checked again before making arrangements.
A bigger business than gym access
Municipal’s own brand story emphasizes coaching, nutrition and community alongside training. That positioning makes the gym an extension of a wider lifestyle business, rather than a single-service workout studio.
Sirlero’s view: the interesting business question is whether that combination makes the membership more useful, rather than simply making the building busier. A café can give someone a reason to stay. Retail can let them try a product in the setting where they use it. Neither automatically creates a lasting habit.
For Municipal, the challenge is to give customers enough value across that mix to keep coming back. For prospective members, the questions are more practical: which services are included, which cost extra, and does the location fit the way they actually train?
An ambitious amenity list can make a club attractive. Whether the experience delivers is something a price card and a celebrity founder cannot establish on their own.
